Your Best

Seven years ago my sister, Natasha went vegan. I went to visit her (we lived in different provinces at the time.) She showed me a movie on how the large factory farms in the dairy and egg industries treat the animals to get what they want from them. If you don't know, I encourage you to do some research. I was very upset! I thought, being a vegetarian I was saving animals from harm. It does, many of them. But the cows and chickens are still being mistreated! I gave up cheese, one of my favorite foods that day. Weeks later, I caved and had some cheese. Even though it tasted good, I felt awful about it. As time went on I struggled being completely vegan all the time. I do make an big effort to eat, and wear vegan products. I was raised eating different food though and I'm only human so every once in awhile I do eat food that isn't vegan. I brought it up to my sister and she said " I feel as long as you're doing your best to cause the least amount of harm possible and you're aware of the reality, it's okay. We shouldn't be so caught up on labels." And I think, that applies to everything in life. <3 I hope, if you're reading this, you're doing your best! Instead of judging, let's focus more on the effort people are making.
